Jason Elam was a first-team
all-county and second-team all-state at Brookwood High School in Snellville, where he also
lettered in swimming and track.
Regarded as the greatest
kicker to ever come through the University of Hawaii Rainbow Football system, he holds
virtually every school and conference scoring record. Elam finished his career with 79
field goals, one shy of the NCAA record held by Jeff Jaeger (80). He holds the Western
Athletic Conference scoring record with 395 points, and has made 30 of 43 field goals from
40 yards or more. (also had a long of 56 yards).
