IZ's music has touched so many lives. I live in Canada, myself and my two sons ages 5 and 3 love all his songs. There is just something about his voice that touches the heart. It's nice to know that such a beautiful spirit lives on. When my youngest was just a newborn baby he would cry for hours at a time, until we played this music. It calmed him as nothing else could ever do. I am thankful to be able to enjoy such beautiful music and the wonderul man who made it. How does a 35 year old man, married and a father of two, find himself sitting in front of a computer crying while listening to IZ, this nearly ten years after his passing away?
As so many before me, I recently discovered the music of Israel Kamakawiwo'ole. As I sit and read all I can of this man, I feel a loss that can only be the smallest fraction of what his family, friends and people must have felt and feel today.
I only wish that my message can reach these very people to let them know that IZ has once again touched someone's life, so many miles away, so many years after his walk on Earth. I want them to smile with the knowledge that this man inspires me to wrap my arms around my family and be ever so grateful of what I have.
Truly he was a gift to all of us and still is today through his beautiful and inspirational voice.
May God watch over his family, friends and people who he obviously loved so much.
