WELO (Taurus) Wild Boar
April 21 - May 20
Taurus, WELO in Hawaiian mythology, is
depicted by the Wild Boar, akin to the Bull Beast of Greek mythology, the fixed earthly
sign of the Builder and Producer.
Those born under the sign of WELO are
said to have inherited the daring and unwavering characteristics attributed to this
fearless creature, which commanded the greatest of respect in ancient Hawaii. Hunting the
bold boar took an act of courage. The might of the hunter's mana (power) was put to test
when facing the wild boar with lance in hand. One chance was all he had to deliver the
final blow. Failure to do so meant serious injury, even death, by the razor sharp tusks of
the boar. The WELO person bears similar traits of courageousness. Male and female alike
reveal by their temperaments and virtues, the same strength of character to combat the
most difficult of challenges. Deliberate in their quest to achieve, WELO people are born
with a sense of integrity, stability and a steadfastness of purpose that is unshaken in
times of adversity. Gifted with a delightful sense of humor, a kindly tolerance and warmth
of heart, others find the tranquil presence of WELO women very soothing and most welcomed.
WELO people control their destiny. Flying high, they can achieve material success in life
by their choice and action; or preferring other values, at their own will, let it pass
them by. According to the Hawaiian Calendar, WELO is the "Moon of Bird Feather
Hunter" month.
