KAULUA (Pisces) Mahimahi
February 19 - March 20
Pisces, KAULUA in Hawaiian mythology,
is depicted by the mighty Mahimahi. These magnificent Pacific dolphins represent the same
watery sign of the Idealist or Philosopher, as the Pisces fish in Greek mythology.
In symbolic association, those born
under the sign of KAULUA are said to be always active in a restless sort of way, akin to
the denizens of the deep themselves. Their temperaments leap to the warmly excitable or
dip to the serenely cool. Like the daring Mahimahi, KAULUAs will also brave the most
difficult currents of life, be they man or woman, and regardless of how fierce or
strenuous, their undertakings are never foolish or against all sensible odds. That the one
Mahimahi faces "Mauka" (toward the mountain) and the other "Makai"
(toward the sea) is indicative of the KAULUA's struggle to determine which direction in
life they should finally take, for the one chosen will subsequently affect the outcome of
their entire life. KAULUAs make waves through life with the freedom of the Mahimahi, never
letting power, money or material things bait them away from their serene sense of duty,
unity, achievement and a victorious completion of their idealistic dreams. According to
the ancient Hawaiian Moon Calendar, KAULUA is the "Warm and Cool" Moon month.
