I was introduced to "IZ" through a friend. I just fell in love with his singing. It is so smooth. It even helps me to fall asleep sometimes. He did not make enough recordings to suite me. I met a niece of his while staying at the Kona Resort Hotel last week. She works in the gift shop. Resembles "IZ" a lot. Very pleasant too. She told me of his passing. He will be greatly missed by all whom he brought such great enjoyment to.

it is said that music is the international language, the music flowing through one man, miraculously pure and true, all of us from all over the world would seem to say is unmatched. i am an old man, and have never..experienced..anything like him. it's beyond music, i think we all agree. we can truly believe in the wonder of great things because of brother Iz, even if for no other reason than the spiritual beauty that flowed out of him and touched us all. how fortunate he came in our lifetimes. how tragic he is gone so soon.

hi. i recently found out that my mother is related to iz. i was at her house one day and i saw some hawaiian music cd's and asked who this man was on the cover. she replied that is was her 2nd cousin i believe. she is a kalaukoa. all my family on her side is still in hawaii. we moved from oahu when i was a young child. anyways.. i thought i would say hello.

Fakalofa atu! A couple of years ago when I was watching Meet Joe Black, I heard IZ's version of Over the Rainbow, man, it blew me away, off course I never found the time to find out who the singer was. Then when 50 First Dates came out, I made the effort to look out for it, well, I couldn't remember the name, so finally I found it on Limewire, and I tell you, it still blows me away. What a shock it was for me this evening as I was surfing the net and found a 'tribute' page in IZs memory - what a loss!

I have discovered Israel's music. I go to Kauai every year or more. I have been to all of the Hawaiian Islands and every time, I feel like I am coming home. Kauai is my home and I can hear all those who have crossed over and they continue to welcome me each time I arrive.
I cannot explain and will not hope to. I feel like an island daughter and perhaps in some other time and some other place, I was just that. Who can say how we find our place in the world, I am just happy I have found mine.

There are only two words in the English language that can truly express my appreciation...and they are "Thank You". Unfortunately, they do not come close to expressing my heartfelt gratitude for what you have done for so many. Tears streamed down my face when I Googled your name and found you were no longer with us. Why is God so selfish that he has to take the best for himself?

I first heard your music on the sountrack of "Meet Joe Black", and from that moment on I was hooked. I did not know that God had called you to be with him until this very day in 2005. I must honestly say that my heart has been aching with your loss. I have just found the music of Israel. I wake up hearing his voice and a sense that at some time I sat before him and listened to him sing. I visit Kauai every year and I long for her every waking minute. I have found my home and Israel's voice echoes through every minute of my life in Canada. At some point and during some other life, I was an island daughter and I hear Israel sing as my brother. When I visit Kauai again, I will hear his voice as I walk Polihale beach and he will be there at the jumping off place for souls. In my heart, my mind, my soul and as that which changed my life.

Aloha, I discovered IZ this past Summer. His enchanting voice and melody inspired me to play the song "Somewhere Over the Rainbow" as I walked down the aisle on my wedding day in Sept. Everyone was inspired by it. It was the perfectly set the tone and mood of the wedding on the W.Coast beach and then honeymoon in Hawaii. I have just learned of IZ's music when I visited the island of Maui last week. I was blown away with how I felt to when I heard his voice. Unfortunately I am signing this guest book with a tear in my eye. Today is 10/12/2005 and I have just found out that IZ passed away over 8 years ago. To discover a beauty like this and then learn that it is gone is a bittersweet feeling.

I last visisted Oahu and brought my best friend back in '95. It was there that we met and made a new friend Steve. He lived in Maui but spent the week in Oahu showing us a good time Waikiki. He and I were traveling through Like Like Hwy. When he spoke to me about a song called Hawaiian suppa-man. He sung it for me at a karaoke lounge. I immidiately fell in love with it. It played for ever in my mind until early this year I finally got IZ's "Facing Future" cd. I love his voice and passion with which he sings. It saddens me to have heard that he had passed on only two years after visiting Oahu. My husband enjoys and also loves his music and his voice. It is very soothing and healing to him, as he is a cancer patient. We appreciate his music and words. Thank you.

I first of Iz on a country western station. The DJ had recently come back from Hawaii and wanted all to hear what he had found in the islands. The others in the studio gave him a hard time about the island sound, but were moved to tears, like the listening audience, by the time the song was over. It was like nothing I have ever heard. I had fallen in love with Iz and was hooked. But my bliss was short lived, I was heart broken when I heard he had passed. However, he can never be gone if we all keep him in and near our hearts.

Aloha mai..I had the pleasure and honor of hearing and meeting Brada Iz at a very intimate concert back in 1986, along with the remaining members of Booga Booga. I was hosting some friends visiting Hawaii from Alaska. It was a very memorable evening. I now reside in Florida for the time being. Spent a couple of years also in Austin, Tx, where a local radio station there played brada's music. There is also a shop in St. Augustine, Fl, that carries all of brada's music. When times get rough here, I listen brada's music and all is well. Mahalo, Brada Iz...your music and memory will live on forever.
